One of our recent side projects was a joint operation between the disciplines of photography, 3D design and matte painting that’s based on creating digital environments that normally would have been impossible to photograph.
We wanted to challenge ourselves to create a spectacular visual of the Geiranger fjord in Norway merged with Norwegian folklore and old historical myths.We produced a full environment with the mountain troll from concept to final finish as he is described in the folklore’s, as well as a digital matte painting of the landscape that enhances Geiranger’s overwhelming natural beauty. We also shot a photo of the wood nymph in our studio that were integrated in the digital environment a long with visual effects such as the tail, fur and flowers in her hair.
